The directions assume you have some tech knowledge, which I don’t, so I found a video for my HP model and it was fairly easy. The magnetized screw drivers are perfect for holding onto those teeny screws and what I thought was a guitar pick is actually to help loosen the case. My battery came 75% charged and installation was something I wished I’d done months ago.

Like most people purchasing this battery, my primary instruction method was a Youtube video. The battery itself did exactly the job I asked of it- it made the laptop function away from a wall again, but post installation there was a slight bulge in the housing as a result. While this is likely not the fault of this manufacturer, and there are definitely laptop designs that are not intended to be easily opened by the consumer, it would be most appreciated by them to have official documentation or walkthroughs available. This would not only make it more likely for people to be repeat customers, but they would have a more polished interaction with the product.

Edited 2/23/24 - Ater the original review prompted the seller to contact me. It turned out the battery was still under warranty and a replacement battery was, offered, shipped and arrived today. So kudos for the customer service and trust the replacement battery will work as it should.Original review: "This battery was purchased to replace the original 4 year old HP Notebook computer battery. The original worked great for several years but had reached the end of it's useful life. I tried to find an OEM battery but couldn't seem to do so. The reviews of this battery were good, so I decided to try it. This battery does not hold a charge for more than a few hours. Even when turning off the computer with the battery fully charged, it is dead when turning it back on in a few days. It's possible I received a defective battery but this one does not perform adequately in any way, shape or form. Really disappointed."

I did the discharge-recharge routine several times, but the first battery I received never went above 73 percent. After about 3 weeks, it was down to 62 percent max. Within 30 days, I initiated an online return and replacement with no hassle whatsoever. The second battery works great!Oh, and my HP laptop opened easier after I found the screws hidden under the two bumper strips on the bottom.
